My Song

I was once told that “my” song was “Yellow”, by Coldplay. I think it fits. And not only because I love the song, but also because it’s beautiful, thoughtful, and mysterious. So yeah, it’s my song. How lucky am I?

Surely my singer of this song is somewhere out there.

“Lead singer Chris Martin has said that the lyrics are about being devoted to someone, wanting to do anything for them - writing a song for them, swimming across the sea for them and so on. He said that it's not necessarily a romantic devotion, but someone that you look up to and would do anything for, a brotherly love.”

" 'Yellow' is a term that can mean cowardly or afraid. From this standpoint, the singer could be afraid and nervous to show his love, until he "ran across" and "jumped across" for her. He finally got the nerve to express his love."

“It can symbolize the love between a parent and child, brotherly love, or the romantic type of love. To me, it symbolizes the romantic type. It basically says that you would do anything for the one that you love. Every little, tiny thing that your lover does, however insignificant it may seem can actually mean a lot. Everything they do seems wonderful. The love it represents is that reach for the stars, talk all night, can never get enough of that person love. Stars are luminous, heavenly bodies that shine down on the world. When he says "look at the stars, look how they shine for you" it means even the stars to him shine down for that person. Yellow is commonly known as an optimistic, cheerful color. However, it is scientifically the most difficult color for the eye to take in. Think about it.”
